My New Year's Resolution

January 9, 2018

Well, it's January and it's trendy to set new year's resolutions, right? So guess what my top resolution is for 2018? Fitness. That's right! I drove my car around a very full parking lot yesterday morning at 7:45 a.m. and finally found a place to park and I just joined Vasa Fitness, a local gym. Yay!!

Ummm, I just saw your eyes roll and you're probably thinking, "DELETE." But there is a catch to what I am going to be telling you in this post.

I have to admit I chuckled a little when the sales guy said that the gym was full today because it's January and that it was hard to find parking. We often have great intentions and fitness is usually one of them. But then things happen, February comes, and we are back to our old routine.

So why would I write a post about something like this? It's because I dig astrology. Really! I know, that didn't really answer the question. I'll try again. Because astrology is very underutilized in our lives. Still didn't answer it? Nope. Yes, I am purposely trying to teasing you with the answer. I just want to make the point that this is an astrology post, not a blog about my fitness goals and my new year's resolutions, well sort of.

Okay, so here's the answer. My 2018 Fitness Chart. :)

I have to give credit to Astrologer Chris Brennan as I was listening to one of his podcasts where he described certain planetary aspects and when they'll be cosmically setup in a helpful way. Heaven knows (literally, haha - astrologer joke), fitness goals could use all the help possible. In the podcast, the idea was thrown out that this would be a good time to start a new fitness program. I looked at the chart and had been chomping at the bit waiting for 01/08/2018 at 8:00 a.m. Mountain time, to start my plan.

All of us were born on a certain date and time. That date and time is used to create a natal chart. That chart is used by astrologers to describe our life plan, our strength and challenges, etc. So why not create a chart for the start of something new, like a marriage, starting a business, or in my case, my workout plan? After all, I was very specific that this plan had to be born right at the time that suggests the best success possible.

Let's get into the technical details so you can see why this chart supports the success of my plan. Mind you, I use word pictures all the time. I'll try to keep these brief as I could write a whole blog post on each aspect:

1. Capricorn Rising - This would be like the start of winter. In the old days, we are not frolicking and playing, we are serious about survival. We have to chop enough wood, put away enough food, etc. This gives the focus on doing the work that is needed, being pragmatic, responsible, disciplined and serious. After all, we have to survive a period of time. You have once change to make it, better do it well.

2. Venus Cazimi the Sun on the Ascendant - The exact conjunction of the Sun with Venus can be a really good thing as it emphasizes the best attributes of Venus. They are at the same degree. This would highlight artistic development and love. It may increase socializing and it may create incredible magnetism. To have these on the Ascendant would describe what is put out there for others to see. So beauty and charm seem like fine results for a fitness program to me. :)

3. Mars Sextile Pluto - This would give a tremendous amount of drive and determination to succeed with goals. Stamina is a strong point and there maybe even some obsessiveness or compulsion. Fascinating that we are also dealing with transformation (Pluto) and again, right on the Ascendant.

4. Moon in Libra ruled by Venus - In some branches of Astrology, the Moon can show what your motivation is or the circumstances surrounding the situation. Let's just be a little vulnerable here and say that if Libra is the sign of the "other person" or partnership and Moon represents a person's emotional experience, there just may be a little motivation for me to want to transform myself/body through a fitness program... and it might just have something to do with love & partnering.  Okay, I said it.

I could go on and on... but this is enough to give you the idea of why I chose to "birth" my fitness plan on this day and time. The planets are giving me the best possible influence to achieve my goals.

These influences are real and are guiding us every day. Each planet has a mission in our lives and objectives to fulfill. I see it every day in the readings with my clients. Now all we have to do is wait for February to see what's happening with this New Year's Resolution. Stay tuned!! :)
